The Secret - Julie Garwood I'd say this is 3 and 1/2 to 4 stars. A pleasant, enjoyable read with likable characters. The story was engaging and the conflict believable. The best part of the book was the absence of all the rubbish one usually has to deal with. Here the protagonists were smart and reasonable, there were no cartoonish villains, no too stupid to live action on anyone's part. The writing is a bit simple and the language somewhat too modern. On the whole, however, while this isn't a story that's blazing trails, I liked it and would recommend it.
